How to Apply for Level 1/Level 2 Certifications

 

Basic Requirements

  1. Read the FAQ section first
  2. By the time you apply for an MR certification, you must have a valid contract with either UR, UKR, or Medbo (no exceptions)
  3. You need to have an RZ-Account
  4. Attend and pass# the written exam/refresher (every 2 years) (registration here)

 

Level 1 MR Operator Additional Requirements

Upon Successfully Passing the Level 1 MR Exam:

  • Please write me an email with the subject: L1 Certification: YOUR_LASTNAME
  • The Email will include the following mandatory information:
    1. Picture of your First Aid Certification or FAC (not older than 3 years)
    2. Picture of your contract with UR, UKR or Medbo: at least SHK or WHK contract with the UKR, UR, Medbo (min. 12 months)
      1. Continuance of Employment is not mandatory!
    3. include the name of your Principal Investigator
    4. include the attachment showing your (10 hrs) training sessions as L1 using the provided form
  • In case of partial or incomplete information (Points 1-4), support will not be provided, neither through an email response nor by scheduling an appointment for the final certification
  • watch the mandatory Siemens Safety video
  • watch the Level 1 Tutorial Video
  • carefully review and familiarize yourself with the Level 1 Tutorial instructions (available here after logging in). Username/Password will be provided during the Safety Training.
  • carefully review the sections: "How to scan" and L1-Operator Duties"
  • Make an appointment with the SM for the final examination at the Prisma
    • Please review the Level 1 safety slides (available here after logging in), as I will be asking specific questions related to the course on that day. Two incorrect answers will require you to repeat the practical examination after 4 weeks

 

Level 2 MR Operator Additional Requirements

Upon Successfully Passing the Level 2 MR Exam:

  • Please write me an email with the subject: L2 Certification: YOUR_LASTNAME
  • The Email will include the following information:
    1. Picture of your First Aid Certification or FAC (not older than 3 years)
    2. Picture of your contract with UR, UKR or Medbo: at least SHK or WHK contract with the UKR, UR, Medbo (min. 12 months)

  • carefully review the sections: "How to scan", "Allowed", Not Allowed" and "Maybe Allowed"
  • Make an appointment with the SM for the final examination at the Prisma

"Direct" Level 2 MR Operator Additional Requirements

Upon Successfully Passing the L2 Direct Exam:

  • Please write me an email with the subject: L2-Direct Certification: YOUR_LASTNAME
  • The Email will include the following information:
    1. Picture of your First Aid Certification or FAC (not older than 3 years)
    2. Picture of your contract with UR, UKR or Medbo: at least SHK or WHK contract with the UKR, UR, Medbo (min. 12 months)
      1. Continuance of Employment is not mandatory!
    3. include the attachment showing your (10 hrs) training sessions as L2 using the provided form
    4. include the name of your Principal Investigator

#If you do not pass the exam or refresher, you will be temporarily unable to work at Prisma as L1/L2. You must wait until you pass the exam in the next Safety Training

The Siemens MRI Scanner MAGNETOM Prisma is the 3T PowerPack for exploration – it offers a unique 3T MRI platform to help you tackle the most demanding MRI research challenges of today and tomorrow.
