Certification
Since I’m taking this course to fulfill my academic requirements, am I also eligible to obtain the L1/L2 certifications?
Yes, you are but there is one legal requirement: have a valid contract (WHK, SHK, or similar) with the University, UKR, or MEDBO for at least 12 months. Breaks are allowed, so the 12-month period does not need to be continuous. For more information, feel free to visit this webpage.
Can I attend the practical training at the Prisma if I failed the written exam?
If you fail the written examination, you may be prohibited from participating in any measurements or practical training at the Prisma until you successfully pass the required tests. If your written exam score falls within the range of 45%–50%, you might have the option to apply for an oral exam, which could allow you to proceed without retaking the written test and still attend the practical training at the Prisma
How long will my L1/L2 certification remain valid?
Two years. After that time you need to apply for a refresher.
I have already worked with a Siemens 3T Prisma somewhere else. Do I need to attend the training anyway?
Yes and you probably will apply for an L2-Direct Operator certification. Pls, contact the SM (Security Manager) for more details and feel free to double check this webpage
I have successfully completed my L1-Operator certification. How long should I wait before applying for an L2-Operator certification?
You have to wait at least until the next MRI-Safety training, which is held four times a year. Special cases will be discussed privately.
I have already obtained my L1-Operator certification. Do I need to attend the MRI-Safety training or to repeat the written examination (during the same year) to apply for an L2-Operator certification?
Yes you do. You need to attend the next Level 2 MR Operator Training. Additionally you need to attend the 2-day training at the Department of Radiology (UKR). See this page for more information.
Do I need to demonstrate my records of active participation to the measurements at the Prisma in order to get my L1/L2 certification?
What are the legal requirements in order to be accepted as an L1/L2 operator?
The only legal requirement is to have a valid contract (WHK, SHK, or similar) with the University, UKR, or MEDBO for at least 12 months. Breaks are allowed, so the 12-month period does not need to be continuous. For more information, feel free to visit this webpage.
Am I eligible for L2 certification without prior completion of L1 certification?
No, you cannot. There are special cases (exceptions) though. Please check the plan of the MRI Safety Training course and feel free to contact the Security Manager.
